ABOUT OUR LOCAL
Jurisdiction
The IBEW Local 43 jurisdiction in New York includes the following counties: Cortland, Herkimer, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego and parts of Cayuga, Chenango, Otsego, Tompkins and Wayne counties.
OUR MEMBERS
IBEW Local 43 was chartered on December 13, 1896 and currently represents 1,200 members. Our members are divided into several catagories of electrical work including: Inside Construction, Voice-Data-Video, Manufacturing, Security & Alarms, Municipal, Residental Wiring and Telephone. Local 43 negotiates and services several different contracts.
Inside Construction
Inside construction includes commercial, industrial, high voltage, motor controls, instrumentation, lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, parking lot lighting, etc.
Residential Wiring
Members meet the wiring needs of private residences including apartments, condominiums, etc.
Voice-Data-Video
A variety of services are covered including voice, data, video, sound, security, computer cabling, nurse call, fiber optics, Ethernet, coaxial cable, telephone, digital, analog and several other low voltage applications.
